OUR CHURCH STORY
Over 25 Years of New Bridge Community Church History
Our History
In August of 1998, Pastor Mark and Leslie Colavecchio, along with a small group of people began gathering to pray. Their prayer was to ask God what it would look like to plant a church that would be for people who have never experienced the grace of Jesus.
On October 3, 1999, New Bridge gathered for its first service at the River Ridge High School Performing Arts Center. By God's grace, people began to come and lives were changed.
New Bridge met in schools between 1998 and 2007. In 2007 the abandoned and condemned, Old Madison Elementary School building was purchased. With a full remodel and God prompting the generosity from the church family, the building had been fully renovated. Since then, the church has been at the heart of the Eastside neighborhood here in Olympia.
As grateful as we are for our building, we believe that the church is more than a building and more than our gatherings. We are a community of people changed by the grace of Jesus seeking to make God's love known to those around us. We gather on Sundays to scatter and in life groups throughout our city.
On February 19, 2023 Jon Cardona was appointed as the new Lead Pastor by Mark and the Leadership Team. Jon had served on staff as part of the preaching and lead team overseeing Life Groups, Outreach ministries, and working to empower volunteers. Mark and Leslie to this day still serve as volunteers at New Bridge.
While our methods may change over the years, our mission remains the same. We are commited to following God as we seek to make disciples who love God, love one another, and make His love known.
